Registration and Cancellation
The registration portal for the Zurich City Triathlon 2026 will open in October 2025. There are a total of 4360 starting places available in different categories and over different distances. There is no registration deadline. As soon as the starting place contingent is fully booked, the registration portal will be closed.
It is worthwhile to acquire a starting place in the Zurich City Triathlon early. In previous years, the available starting places were sold out in a short time. In addition, you can benefit from lower entry fees if you register early. You can see how many starting places are available per tariff in the registration portal.
Yes, you can change all your personal details under the link that was sent in the confirmation email. You can also “upgrade” or “downgrade” to a longer or shorter distance as long as there are available slots in the respective category.
Yes, only the National League and Youth League require a license from Swiss Triathlon.
The entry fee for the two disciplines includes the finisher medal, race number, sticker set, swim cap, food on the course, timing, medical care, a personal certificate for download and winner prizes for the winners in each category.
Yes, the sprint distance is open to everyone born in 2010 or later, for the Olympic distance you must be born in 2008 and older.
For young people there are shorter categories in the youth triathlon. If you are not yet of legal age, your waiver of custody must be signed by a parent or guardian.
If you cancel your registration, the entry fee will only be refunded if you have taken out cancellation insurance and need to withdraw for medical reasons (illness, accident, etc.). In this case, please send your cancellation request, including the reason, medical certificate, and your account details (IBAN), to info@zc3.ch.
If you do not have cancellation insurance or your withdrawal is not for medical reasons, unfortunately, the entry fee cannot be refunded. It is also not possible to transfer the starting place to the following year.
If you would like to transfer your starting place to another person, you can do so via the link in the confirmation email until Monday, June 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. After this deadline, a transfer of the starting place is no longer possible for administrative reasons.
Courses & Competition
The starting blocks are divided according to your estimated swimtime. A starting block consists of approximately 250 athletes. Within the starting block you can decide yourself if you prefer to start further in front or behind.
The start will be a rolling start, i.e. five athletes will start every 10 seconds.
As soon as the start block allocation is finalized, you will receive a notification via email.
The program and details of the Swiss Triathlon Series are currently still being prepared and clarified. The courses, as well as the information for the Youth and National League, are expected to be published on our website in late autumn. The registration portal for these categories will also be opened at that time
Only if the water temperature is below 15.9° C. If the water temperature is above 22° C, the wearing of wetsuits is prohibited. Between 15.9° C and 22° C it is up to you whether you want to wear a wetsuit.
At over 65, the wetsuit can be worn up to 24.6° C.
No, drafting is not allowed, except in the races of the National League, Youth League, and the U16/U14 Youth Triathlon.
Yes, any triathlon bikes, mountain and city bikes are allowed.
The entire course, i.e. the cycling and running course, is closed off and not accessible to other road users. However, it cannot be ruled out that there may be passers-by on the route. So you still have to be careful and show consideration.
Miscellaneous
The company triathlon can be completed in both disciplines, the classification will be adjusted accordingly.
No, a team must always consist of three athletes.
It is possible to do the ZC3 in two different competitions, for example sprint and Olympic distance or as an individual athlete and in a team. However, we only recommend this for rather fast athletes and do not assume any responsibility that it will work out and that both starts can be made.
The courses and the whole event area are barrier-free. We are looking forward to the participation of numerous parathletes.
Yes, for the sprint distance it is 3 hours, for the Olympic distance it is 4 hours.
The Cut-Off-Time for the swim course in the Olympic distance is 60 minutes and in the Sprint distance 50 minutes.
No, for administrative reasons it is not possible to transfer a starting place to another year.
