Registration
The registration portal for the Zurich City Triathlon 2027 opens in autumn 2026. There is no registration deadline. Once the starting place contingent is fully booked, the registration portal will be closed.
The registration portal for the Youth & Kids Triathlon and the Youth League will open at the end of the year.
It’s worth securing a starting spot for the Zurich City Triathlon early. In recent years, the available starting spots were sometimes sold out within a short time. In addition, you can benefit from lower entry fees by registering early.
Yes. You can adjust your personal details in your Datasport account.
Yes. A Swiss Triathlon licence is only required for participation in the Youth League.

Yes, the Sprint distance is open to all born in 2011 or later, while the Olympic distance requires participants to be born in 2009 or earlier.
For juniors there are shorter categories in the youth triathlon. If you are not yet of legal age, your liability waiver must be signed by a legal guardian.
Yes. Released starting spots are made available again on Datasport and can be purchased there via the starting spot exchange. In addition, starting spots are occasionally raffled off through our partners. Maybe you’ll be lucky and win a starting spot.
Withdrawal
You can withdraw from the Zurich City Triathlon at any time by contacting info@zc3.ch. However, a refund of the entry fee is only possible if the StartSafe refund service from Datasport was selected during registration. The refund is processed through Datasport and can be requested via this link: StartSafe – Datasport Protection
Without a completed StartSafe refund service, the entry fee unfortunately cannot be refunded.
If you would like to transfer your starting place to another person, you can do so via the link in the confirmation email until the new date. After this deadline, a transfer of the starting place is no longer possible for administrative reasons.
The resale of a starting place is only possible until May 31, 2027 via the official Datasport starting place exchange. Any resale via other providers is not permitted.
No, for administrative reasons a transfer of a starting place to the following year is not possible.
Courses & Competition
The start blocks are divided according to your stated swim time. A start block consists of approximately 250 athletes. Within the start block you can decide for yourself whether you prefer to start further towards the front or the back.
The start is conducted as a rolling start, meaning approximately five athletes start every 10 seconds.
Once the start block assignment has been made, you will receive a notification by email.
Only if the water temperature is below 15.9° C. At a water temperature above 22° C, wearing a wetsuit is prohibited. Between 15.9° C and 22° C it is up to you whether you want to wear a wetsuit.
For athletes aged 65 and over, the wetsuit may be worn up to 24.6° C.
No, drafting is not allowed, except in the races of the National League, Youth League, and the U16/U14 Youth Triathlon.
Yes, any triathlon bikes, mountain and city bikes are allowed.
The entire course, i.e. the cycling and running course, is closed off and not accessible to other road users. However, it cannot be ruled out that there may be passers-by on the route. So you still have to be careful and show consideration.
Miscellaneous
The company triathlon can be completed in both disciplines, the classification will be adjusted accordingly.
No, a team must always consist of three athletes.
It is possible to do the ZC3 in two different competitions, for example sprint and Olympic distance or as an individual athlete and in a team. However, we only recommend this for rather fast athletes and do not assume any responsibility that it will work out and that both starts can be made.
The courses and the whole event area are barrier-free. We are looking forward to the participation of numerous parathletes.
Yes, for the sprint distance it is 3 hours, for the Olympic distance it is 4 hours.
The Cut-Off-Time for the swim course in the Olympic distance is 60 minutes and in the Sprint distance 50 minutes.
