The 5th Zurich City Triathlon – an anniversary weekend full of highlights

The Zurich City Triathlon 2026 was a great success: Held for the first time across two full competition days, Switzerland’s largest triathlon welcomed over 6,000 athletes – a fitting celebration of its fifth anniversary.

Saturday kicked off with a spectacular start dedicated to the next generation: In the morning, the best young athletes competed in the first-ever Super Sprint and the Youth League, complemented by the U14 and U16 youth categories newly moved to Saturday. In the afternoon, the free Kids Triathlon brought beaming smiles to over 300 children – the most emotional moments of the day.

Sunday followed with the big race day, featuring individual, team and company starts over the Sprint and Olympic distances. A particular highlight: the company triathlon, where around 760 teams battled for the title of “the fittest company in switzerland” – won by Swiss Re.

This year’s ZC3 took place during a pronounced heatwave with temperatures of around 35 degrees. Thanks to a comprehensive set of measures – additional water stations, misting showers, more closely spaced aid stations, and the option to switch from the Olympic to the Sprint distance – the race day passed without serious incidents. The ZC3 2026 was thus a successful event, even under challenging weather conditions.

Thousands of spectators along the course and on the Landiwiese turned the ZC3 into an exhilarating triathlon festival for everyone.

The next Zurich City Triathlon will take place on 26 & 27 June 2027 – we can’t wait!
